Negaitve tests???

i havent had any symptoms for 2 years and my culture test was negative? no doctor will say the same thing to me, some doctors tell me if probably wasnt herpes and others say it is?? so when i get a new partner this is what i tell them, that i dont know. Do you think i should say i do have it or tell them im not sure myself but warn them, or do i forget about it until it happens again?? its so confusing when you never know, one doctor said to me" if you get it again then you know and if never get it then you know you havent lol part of me wishes it would come back again just so i know!!!! advice please
