I don't get outbreaks but I get muscle pain from my lower back down to my feet on a daily basis. I have had two blood tests for herpes and both were negative. Nothing else but herpes explains the symptoms.
Must a blood test always be positive to "prove" Herpes?

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure you need to have an outbreak while they take blood for the most accurate test.

My first test came back negative and my doctor did not think I had it at all. She send me to get a blood test and walla I was positive for herpes.
